Formed in 2004, Pikeville Kentucky's Downtrend fuses hardcore riffs with melodic hooks. Downtrend has always been a hard-working band with the reputation of doing whatever it takes to move a crowd. In April of 2007 the band signed with Universal sub-label, Vision Metal Records.
With their mixture of Melody and Madness, Downtrend has what it takes to make fans and industry professionals alike throw their horns up and take notice. This band is gaining momentum like a runaway locomotive as they continue to build a rabid regional following by bringing a little extra "Madness" to each and every live show.
The band has also gained national attention as they have appeared in the April '09 Issue of METAL EDGE Magazine with their song "LOVER'S LEAP WEEKLY" featured on the compilation CD that accompanied that issue. Downtrend has also made multiple appearances on the the television show "UP LATE" , guesting with such stars as the legendary Pauly Shore. With the April 2009 release of their Vision Metal debut, entitled "NOVATION" , Downtrend unleashed "The Madness" Worldwide. Along with their busy performance schedule, the foursome is currently in the studio at VMR putting the finishing touches on some hot new material that will be their sophomore release entitled "ONE STOP SIN SHOP", due out in Summer 2012.
Proving time and time again that Metal has a heart, Downtrend is well known for their charitable contributions to many reputable causes as well as hosting their own yearly "Toys For Tots" benefit concert in their hometown of Pikeville.
